Inspired by the tradition of the artistic salon—intimate gatherings that originated in 16th-century Italy and flourished in 17th- and 18th-century France—IN Focus is a monthly series dedicated to creativity, conversation, and community.
Each month, audiences are invited to experience a unique presentation featuring play readings, new works by local playwrights, musical performances, featured artists, workshops, and other engaging artistic events. More than a performance, IN Focus creates opportunities for meaningful dialogue between artists and audiences, fostering a deeper appreciation of the creative process.
All IN Focus events are free and open to the public, offering a welcoming space to observe, be entertained, ask questions, share ideas, and connect with the vibrant arts community of Phoenix. Participation in the series is entirely volunteer-based.

July 22, 2026 “What Show Was That?” Great Songs from Forgettable Musicals
A lively cabaret featuring memorable songs from Broadway's most overlooked and forgotten productions.
Sunday, August 16, 2026 • 4pm – “The Four Seasons”
Order Chaos Theater Company, Fifth Wall Playhouse, Rebel Theater, and Emerald City Players present scenes and excerpts from their upcoming seasons, offering audiences a first look at the exciting productions ahead.
Sunday, September 20, 2026 • 4pm – New Works – Local Playwrights
Featured Playwrights: Kandyce Hughes, Matt Herman, Kirt Shineman, and Joe Bardin
An evening of staged readings showcasing short selections of new works written by local playwrights.
Sunday, October 25, 2026 • 4pm – The V Monologues Prelude
An intimate and courageous prelude that echoes the spirit of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, inviting audiences to listen, reflect, and connect through stories of resilience and women's lived experiences.
Sunday, November 8, 2026 • 4pm – Scenic Painting Workshop & BYOB
In Partnership with the ariZoni Theatre Association
A hands-on workshop where participants learn the fundamentals of scenic painting and basic texturing techniques for stage flats.
Sunday, December 6, 2026 • 4pm – The Last Gift of the Magi
Written by JP Clemente
Directed by Mark Clemente
A special play reading featuring Pat Halon and Jeff Martini, bringing a heartfelt new interpretation of O. Henry's timeless tale to the stage.
